Buying Euros

I'm thinking about this too - its a very good rate at the moment and with two family euro-holidays already booked +a motorcycle tour in july i'm tempted to get my hands on some right now.
One thing - a couple of years back i got a CaxtonFX card - its a pre-paid visa thing, there are others available - i got a USD card some months ahead of a big trip to disneyland - it allowed me to add $ to it as i worked without having a lot of cash kicking about the house.
I was thinking of doing the same - but the US is ver card-centric - wondering what people think of doing the same with a Euro-card?0 -
I also have a dollar card, which I have used in the US, but just opened an international trading account with them so, plus a new multi currency card linked to that account. I have just used the trading account to pay the deposit to rent a villa in France at a good exchange rate and no fees.
I had $60 sitting on the old card that they transferred to my new account where I converted to it to Euros, so it's a much more flexible system than the old one where you needed a seperate card for each currency.
Even if you find European countries where people prefer cash, these cards seem to provide the cheapest access to cash points so are still worth having.0
