Don't worry about having spent too much, just take it back and get a refund (could send OH back playing the dopey husband who bought the wrong things perhaps?).

The silver lining is that now you know not to go to him again!!:D

Thanks, I didnt think of taking it back, I will have to try again another day, I should have got him to get a supervisor but was so embarressed i didbt think of it till i had left the shop. next time i will. thanks for your support jonny

Hi everyone,
Well i am a total tesco virgin and as from today have 4 pts on my card and 1 green pt for reusing my linen bag. What i wanted to ask was does it matter how many coupons you use even if nt bought the products.

Sorry this happened to you aliesher. If this happens again, ask to speak to the supervisor or manager. It's happened to me before and the whole shop heard the girl on the till refuse to take my vouchers. I was more angry than embarressed. The supervisor (a real jobsworth) and the manager came over. The manager told the girl to take 1 of each of my toilitery coupons. She would not let me use any other vouchers though, but In the end it was worth getting the manager involved, as the girl wasn't going to let me use as many coupons as the manager. Better luck next time

We all get "bad" shops from time to time.. on Friday I had an sa who kept insisting I hadn't bought items and going "no, no" to every coupon and everything I said. As I had so few coupons allowed and she had refused so many Tesco coupons that should have been allowed, I did take them to CS and got refunded for them.

By Friday night I hated Tesco and would cheerfully have shopped elsewhere for a while if there had been a viable alternative. Come Saturday night I was a much happier Tesco shopper.. and tonight I am happier still..[£25.94 off tonights shop]

Take the ups with the downs and the swings with the roundabouts.. you'll almost certainly come out better over all..
