Fake call from Talktalk?

Just had a strange number call me up it, he said he was from Taktalk customer services. He knew my name adress everything, and siad there was some illegal activity from my account.

Next he said are you in front of your computer, I'll need you to give me some information.

I asked him for his name he said it was Brain Smite (although his very broken English would suggest a different name) and then I asked him for his Talktalk employment number then he said reluctantly said yes sir, I can give it you, then the line went dead.

I wonder what he was after, what is the con?

And how were you going to verify his 'TalkTalk employment number'?
A pretty poor scammer if he couldn't even invent such a number on the spot.

The will tell you to use the command function and go into the computer settings, which will show up a long list of commands that a normal consumer would not understand, they then convince you they are problems and they would need remove access to your PC so they can fix it, but it will cost your £XXX, so you agree, pay them, they then take control of your PC, screen goes blank for a short period, so you dont see what they are doing, in this time they have installed a keylogger script that will work in the background, so when you visit any site link online banking it will log all your details, so now they have access to your bank account and you are not aware.
