IPhone 6 deal from carphone warehouse!

I looked into the deal 'advertised' on the mse website, 33.49 pm /49 upfront, with ee via another website, then took this to carphone warehouse (thought that would be a more trustworthy place to go) and they matched it AND are paying my first months bill!
Thought I'd share the good news 😊
On a different note slightly, wondered if anyone could help me with this....
Carphone warehouse were out of sims so are posting one to me which will arrive Monday. I have the phone, but it's useless with no sim. I was wondering if I picked up an EE payg sim tomorrow, and used it just to make the phone work (I wouldn't use it to make calls etc) wether this would affect the phone or contract?
Dying to get it going, such a tease when you can't get past the set up screen!
