Why would her phone and ipod both need charging at the same time?
There's also a good chance that she's not allowed to take a phone.

They're quite often not allowed on school trips.
They want children to interact with each other, not spend time texting/phoningIM' their friends at home and they'd prefer if any contact with parents is through the teachers.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

It was a school trip. I would be deeply disappointed in a school that would allow my child to spend the day on their phone/ipod instead of partaking in the activities I'd paid for. The exact reason that schools don't allow them on trips!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
