Charger for Europe

I'm clueless! DC is going to Europe with school over the summer & will be taking an Ipod with her for Wifi/music. What type of charger will she need??

  • Normal continental plug adaptor and then charge as normal from there.

    Many thanks!
  • Europe uses the same electrical format as the UK with just a different plug shape so a simple plug converter is all thats required and she then continues to use the normal charger.

If she has any other electrical equipment that she will be using (no mention of phone which she is surely surgically attached to!) then taking two adaptors would be a good idea. If you don't have any already then they often come in twin packs anyway.

Or, you could get a twin socket adapter, with USB sockets, thereby allowing you to run two mains appliances, and charge/run two USB devices, at the same time.

Bit pricier than the £land adapters, but they're well built, and save hauling around mains to USB adapters.

I got mine from Asda, and they do am American version too.

Most chargers I've had recently have been universal with separate clip on terminals for UK or Euro.
Have you not got one of those kicking around?
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

    OR

A 3 socket strip with a UK plug and one adapter. This way she'll have at least one fuse there somewhere (not 13amp!)
Turning left avoids some of the idiots (only some)

But she would still have carry Mains to USB adapters, for any Devices that charge/run via a USB plug.
