  • Good Morning everyone, very frosty here this morning, quite beautiful to look at and with bright sun and blue skies it looks like being another day to be savoured. I actually got washing dry outside yesterday and ironed it as it came indoors so a clear basket today. DD1 comes home for a couple of days tomorrow so today is a general tidy up round the whole house and some cooking so I can spend time with her and not in the kitchen while she's here. She is bringing the Olaf Piggy home for a while to leave him for us to look after as he needs a little more attention than she currently has time to give him after his tooth operation. He needs a little TLC and hopefully we'll get him up to speed by Easter and he can go home again then.

Some very sad news posted on another thread yesterday evening is that KITTIEs husband has sadly died, I know she's been a poster for quite some time and perhaps is a familiar name to some of us but such a sad thing to happen as they had got their home and life just where they wanted them to be, condolences to her if she should chance to read here, Lyn xxx.

    Morning all,

a big (((hug))) to Gers for all the rubbish your going through. Life is so !!!!! at times. :-(

I'm ok, slept well last night. Amazing what peace of mind does for you. All is well with me, just plodding on as I do. Nothing else to report really. Youngest had a bad day at work yesterday and hubby is still moaning about his cold and the job.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Hi everyone,

I spent part of yesterday in London and apart from that did very little. I'm avoiding work this week - Gers, I sympathise, I don't think I'm going to be going in to the office much longer, it's a mess. Time to slip back into retirement methinks.

I have a difficult relationship with my brothers Judi and I am executor to mum and dad's estate with one of them. He is of the type who can never be wrong and doesn't want to do anything other people suggest. I suggested the other day that we find a charity to take the remaining goods from mum's house (none of any great value) but no, that wasn't a good idea at all, he'd just make a bonfire of it all. This morning he rang and asked what I thought about letting Actionaid take it all as they would collect it! I just agreed - as long as it gets done. Hopefully the sale will go through soon and after the money is divvied up I won't have to deal with any of them again.

    Have a good day.
  • Morning Guys,
Sunny here today. Washing on the line. Got a rotten cold this morning:mad:

Had a day out yesterday, shopping and lunch in a garden centre. Delicious!
    Yellow sticker curry tonight.
Sistercas glad your mum is going to a better house.:T

Going for a coffee now, and some more paracetamol.
    Enjoy the day all!

Well I think I am doing myself out of a job. Ive just heard from my youngest son. He's working with his Dad next week out of town. Apart from the dogs I am going to be on my own all week apart from the Thursday I have my Grandson.

Looking forward to the solitude but wondering what I am going to do with myself. :o

Apart from the odd night ive spent alone ive never spent so many days totally on my own.

Looking forward to it strangely enough.:)

Morning all! Lovely and sunny here but a very cold wind. DS13 and I walked down to town to move some money between accounts at the building society. He is now making puff pastry for sausage rolls, DS16 is revising and I am catching up with the housework. Stairs hoovered, load of washing done, hoovering upstairs and cleaning bathrooms next. Might do some baking later is DS13 doesn't beat me to it.

HM sausage rolls, jackets and beans for dinner. DH should be back from London sometime this afternoon.
  • Good afternoon everyone,

lovely sunny day here. got the sheets on the line today, so nice when you can put the washing out.

All our guests have gone home today, DS had a young lady call for him this morning before he was dressed. They have gone out to meet with friends, don't know when he will be back. Dropped DDs friends at the station this morning then DD and I went to Morries as they have 12.5kg of potatoes for £2:) Also bought a lemon squeezer and some sugar so think I will go and make a start on my marmalade.

Have a good day everyone:) Hugs to all.

  • My condolences to Kittie for her sad loss

Sistercas I hope your Mum is happy in her new home, it sounds lovely.

Lovely bright day again so all the beds were stripped as soon as everyone got out of them and the bedding is happily blowing on the line :j. I love the smell of fresh laundry straight from the line :D

I had a podiatry appointment this morning and my feet were checked for any diabetic nasties and I have had my pedicure :D back in six weeks.

I have done two sessions of my physio excercises and now my knees are really sore :( and I have to do them four times a day  Oh well it gives me the excuse of putting my feet up and finishing another cardi for DD's friend's baby.;)

Totally not OS, but I still have to post.:D
I finally have my hearing aid back!!:T:T:T
It seems that someone typed too fast when they typed the postcode, and transposed the first two letters, putting KM instead of MK for Milton Keynes. D'oh!!!!! :wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:
