Lloyds not sending money to Halifax.

Options
I opened an account with Halifax last week and I've been trying to send money to it through my Club Lloyds account online. For some reason its not going through, it will set up the new recipient but not send money of any amount. I've tried sending it to the Halifax c/a and the savings account I set up too, nothing. I can still send money to my RBS account through Lloyds or my oh's Halifax account, but not mine.

Never had an issue like this before so no idea whats going on.

Do you get an error message of some sort (such as 'your payment may have been unsuccessful')? Payments between Lloyds and Halifax are internal transfers. I've had problems with internal transfers before with Lloyds and/or Halifax. Either they've put a block on them on your account (for instance if an account you have opened online has failed subsequent checks they will block online access to internal transfers until they've removed the account in question) or there's a technical glitch.

Yeah it comes up that, or "your payment was successful" but it wasn't. I've been trying since last night, and still nothing. The Halifax account seams to be up and running fine, apart from no funds, card arrived today, and welcome letter etc last week.

It may be the Halifax account that has a 'problem'. Try doing something minor on it like changing paperless settings to Paperless and back again and see if it allows it. Do the same with the Lloyds account.

Yup no issues doing that. Never encountered an issue like this. It seams to be Lloyds that are refusing to pay. Not sure if calling them would be any use, as I called last week to close my credit card, which they said was done, still open to this day.

I've just sent a payment to Lloyds and it was initially rejected and then went through but it still hasn't appeared at Lloyds. I wonder if they're having problems receiving faster payments at Lloyds/Halifax/BOS at the moment? Wouldn't be the first time: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21123618

Has your payment debited from your Lloyds account when it says it has been successful?

It's not debited, no. I just set up a new recipient to my natwest account and sent a pound fine. Haven't a clue why it won't send to my Halifax account.

As I understood it lloyds -halifax transfers do not go though the external Faster payments process but though some sort of internal in-house -in-group transfer system.

Can you send money to your Halifax from a non LBG account, e.g. Natwest?

I just sent £1 from Lloyds to a Halifax that was opened last Saturday - arrived instantly. So there's no general fault between the two.

Djene, it isn't something silly like an incorrect sort code / account number?

I've checked the sort code and account number. All correct.
