Not for instore purchases. I have seen me go into a store find what i want, get my phone out, go onto their website and see if its available on their site, order it and pay online to pick up in store, show the order to sales advisor and take away the item.0 -
Sometimes there is just no-one else to pin the blame on.0

some people are so helpful.
thanks0 -
slightly different to buying something on a buy and sell site, i avoid them for this precise reason.
not arguing, but i just wanted some advice on a consumer issue.
think i might see what i can do with the contract and sell the tablet on.0 -
OP when did they accept your "offer"? I ask as you say "collected in store".
If (for example) you reserve something on a website then collect & pay in store, then it counts as a store purchase.
If you buy something online and have it delivered to the store, then it counts as a distance sale. You can lose your right to cancel in certain circumstances though - the only one i can think of atm is if you have made an express request for the service to begin before the 14 days is up.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
If you buy something online you are covered under the ICAC regulations 2014 which came after the distance selling regs.
This means that with only a few exceptions you can return something because the DSR/ICAC were set up to ensure you have the possibility to inspect the item etc just as you would have had had you bought the item in store.
Clearly if you buy in store you don't have that legislation to cover you for a no fault refund.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.0 -

what has the ICAC regulations 2014 (Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988. Published LW 25 July 2014 (2014 No 482)) got to do with this
Distance Selling Regulations was replaced by the Consumer Contracts Regulations on 13 June 20140
