Hotels with guaranteed sunbeds

Please can anyone recommend any hotels that have allocated sunbeds so you don't have to get up at silly o'clock to reserve them?
Spent the last 2 holidays getting up at a stupid time to ensure getting decent sunbeds and would like to go somewhere without that pressure.
We will be travelling in August as we have 2 lads aged 14 and 11 so it needs to be family friendly and all inclusive. Open to any destination at the moment.
Thanks for your help.

Three things sprung immediately to mind...
- You might not like where the beds have been allocated.
- You might not like your neighbours.
- If all the sunbeds have been allocated, and half the people fall into either of the above two categories then that'll be a management nightmare, which I don't think any hotel would want to contend with.0 -
As above, I'd be surprised if any would guarantee anything that isnt on your own terrace/ balcony. How could they be allocated other than by replicating room numbers on the sunbeds and then you may or net get one that is to your tastes depending on which room you are randomly allocated to.
I've certainly found that being friendly to the staff, combined with good tipping, can result in them reserving your preferred beds for you. Certainly this worked well for us in Dubai and India where the wife likes one which she can move from sun to decent shade where as I prefer one in total shade all the time. Of course is still not a guarantee but works well enough.0 -
Yes I have heard of your wishes, and have been to one hotel that allocates sunbeds. Alexander the Great , Pathos, Cyprus.
On the first morning you visit the sunbed king!he shows what is available. The front row , packed in like sardines was popular, but I was after a quieter spot with some shade, I was happy with our beds. If you kept alert and found out when people were leaving , a word on that afternoon meant you grabbed the requested spot before the next holiday makers arrived the following day.
The beds had markers which correspond to your room , so the system seem to have worked.
Now the info is of a few years back, so things might well have changed. But when I was at the Alexander , my BIL was at another hotel the other side of Pathos and he had reservations
We only booked BB as the walk into Pathos was so short and lots of harbor side restaurants.
To sum up, resevations may well have ceased, not Ai , but the idea certainly exists.0 -
The hotel I stay at in Ibiza is on the beach so if I can't get a sunbed I just lie on the beach and sometimes treat myself to a bed there. Not to everyone's taste I know.0

I think you will struggle with allocated sunbeds in AI family hotels. As another poster said, the Alexander the Great hotel in Paphos, Cyprus, is the only one I've ever come across. How about something like the First Choice Holiday Village in Ibiza? They are providing hundreds of extra sunbeds and an extra pool for this season. There is also a water park, which is a good attraction for any age group. There is also a new Thomson Sensatori opening in Ibiza this year. Don't believe all the hype about Ibiza, as 80% of visitors are not clubbers!0

WOW, really? I have never stayed in a hotel which hasn't had enough beds, or where you need to reserve them.0

"Enough" is different to having your personal preference when it comes to proximity to the pool/ beach/ bar whilst avoiding toilets/ bins/ main thorough fairs and the right mix of shade/ non-shade from sunrise to sunset.
Personally I am not too bothered as long as I can stay in the shade but some people are very picky about not wanting to be around where kids are playing, having a good view etc etc etc
Certainly in India there was more loungers than you could ever need but by 10am most that were left had no shade at all on the beach (pool side were fine as there were mobile parasols)0 -
The vast majority of Hotels I've stayed in have policies advising people that sunbeds can't be reserved, if I arrive at the pool/beach and find loads of sunbeds that are clearly not being used but have a towel on them the towels gets returned to the towel guy
When the towels owners eventually surface, normally several hours later, I suggest that they ask the towel guy where their towels have gone
But the time they have finished trying to get towels from the towel guy without the sacred towel card they're normally to exhausted to confront anyone else :beer:0
