  • Afternoon all,

Well, didn't go to London today. We have decided to go tomorrow instead. I popped into town today to get some fabric as I have decided to have a go at making some clothes using a pattern. I'm going to do a cotton top/shirt that I first made about thirty years ago. If that turns out ok I shall attempt the dress!

Doing a roast for dinner :)
  • Good afternoon everyone.

Just popped on for a quick 5 minutes. Sorry to here of any problems, and hope for speedy resolutions. Birthday wishes to anyone celebrating.

Have just been out to pick up DD and 2 of her friends who have come down from Bromley to stay the night. It is good that she still sees her old friends, and also has another set of friends in Medway too!.

DD and I went to the gym this morning, then I have been pottering about at home. I went and did some shopping when DD went to meet her friends, and I bought some YS seville oranges, so will have to make some marmalade this week. Haven't made it for years so wish me luck.

Am just proving some bread dough and have made the pancake batter, so I hope the girls are hungry, as I've made double the usual:rotfl::rotfl:

    Have a good evening everyone.

    Afternoon all,

Not long back from funeral, there was a meal in a local restaurant afterwards, which was very nice.....was a good turnout and I wore my black hat that J had coveted ....will think of him every time I wear it. Met some friends I hadnt seen for 50 years, including a friends brother I used to fancy big time. Will go visit the new widow towards the end of the week, as I am sure that while family are around she will be ok and there will be family things that need to be discussed.

Judi....so sorry that your brother cannot see that the right thing to do is agree on the best carevfor your mother......we none of us have a right to a financial inheritance, what she has should be used for her care and comfort....surely there is some law that protects her rights.

Well done on the firewood Lyn.....I would do that kind of thing, as well as picking up sticks from the ditches, but my OH or offspring would have a conniption at the thought....DH regales us regularly on how poor his family were when he was growing up.....make sense of that if you can!

Pork chops for dinner with some of the leftover pancakes from breakfast for pudding....OH and I have already eaten but 2 granddaughters and DGS2 will need feeding at some stage.

Feeling very tired now, its been a long day, probably too late to have a nap, will just do a bit of crochet to keep me awake, making a baby blanket for my store of baby clothes which I like to have as gifts.

Have a good evening everybody, stay warm and safe

I know that no-one is posting/reading at this time but just wanted to say that I've had the worst working day of my life....ever! Disorganised, unprofessional, juvenile and just rubbish organisation that I work for - for the next 20 days!

Unexpectedly back at my own place and trying to unwind enough to not have sweary words ticker-taping through my brain. I'll be fine by morning!
  • Gers I am reading and I am sorry you have had rubbish day, but not for much longer. This will soon be a distant memory, take heart lovely lady

thanks both - I don't often indulge in such awfulness but today was the pits. I left home at 4.45a.m and am still working on my laptop. Yes, that's unusual but it's because my colleagues are just ... as above ^^^.

My soul is being soothed by a chilled white wine and Leroy Jethro Gibbs repeats as I work. Sweary words rolling through my mind are gone.

    Thanks folks.
  • Gers, enjoy the wine, I think you need it!
