  • Have you looked at National Express coaches? 7.10 am from Nottingham Broadmarsh, arrives Golders Green 9.50, Marble Arch 10.40am for under 26 pounds single. Where in London is your appt?
Do East Mids trains do a group ticket for three? Sorry I don't know if they do, just raising the question.

What area of central London are you going to? We live a few miles from you and frequently drive to London. Sometimes we park a little way out but there are a few car parks just outside the congestion zone which aren't too expensive. DS1 was in the Royal London hospital a couple of times last year and we managed to find pre-bookable car parking at around £15 a day (less for shorter periods). If there's a car full of us, we often drive to Camden and park here http://www.lomaxcarpark.co.uk/curnock_estate_b.html , then it's just a few minutes on the bus or tube into the centre.

Why didn't I think of NE coaches???!!! Yes, that would be ideal leaving at 7.10, arrive 10.40 and 45 mins to get to the appointment. £73 for 3 plus visitor oyster card if we want to visit elsewhere so roughly just over the driving cost with less stress.

I shall be booking that tomorrow :T.

Thanks very much for that. :)
  • There's always Watford .. you can get from the M1 to Watford junction station very easily. It's then a 20 minutes train ride into Euston station.

It's within the Tube zone network (even though it's a train) so it's not too expensive.

I'm not sure on parking though

Unless you're planning to do a few journeys on the tube or buses, you may be better using a contactless debit card rather than buying an Oyster card and loading it with a travelcard. Contactless debit cards now give the same fares and daily cap as an Oyster without leaving you with a balance and deposit left on a card which you may not use for months if you're not a regular visitor to London.
