Thomson Claim they sent cheque?

Hi i'm looking for some advice. We travelled to Mexico in September and my wife was 4 months pregnant. On check out we were informed that we had an 11 hour delay. We found out that was due to a problem with the evacuation slide being deployed at gatwick unintentianally. Anyway we had to pay for an extra days accomodation, meals and parking at gatwick. We wrote to Thomson on September 18th. I have never once had any aknowledgment from them about any aspect of our complaint / claim except for me rigning them. First it was "it will be dealt with within 28 days" then 56 days, then 56 days from the case being looked at. Finally at christmas, I was told a cheque had been issued on December 11th. However this never arrived, Since then I have phoned probably about 10 times, never getting anywhere. The last lady I spoke to on Friday said I needed to put it in writing that the cheque never arrived and to e-mail her this and she'd acknowledge and action it. Needless to say she never responded to my e-mail again. Im starting to wonder now if i'm ever going to get this? Is there anything I can do in this matter or do I have to just keep ringing the call centre?

I spent hours online trying to get compensation from Thomson for a delayed flight of six hours. My claim is now in the courts system and today I received an acknowledgement of service, with Thomson and parent company TUI giving notice they intend to file a defence. I believe this is just to get them another 28 days grace. Has anyone else gone down the court road with Thomson?0

Rather than trolling posts, maybe you could help out by answering the question i asked or simply do what others do and not post at all!
I thought it was nescessary to post about the pregnancy during the complain because of the extra stress / problems caused to us on this holiday.
Whether or not you see it as a problem, it was.0 -

The compensation isnt the problem, they have agreed to me that there was a problem, it was their fault. They said originally they had sent a cheque in the post dated December the 11th. Now they are saying they couldnt find the original cheque (my guess is as it was never sent) and now its going to be at least 28 days before they can even put a stop on the current cheque! Still no news about me actually recieving a new one.
Is there anyone I can complain to higher or does anyone know of anyway I can try and speed this up?0 -

If you have it in writing that they uphold your claim for compensation then I don't see you have anything to worry about. If it takes 28 days to get a new cheque then thats not too long. Some people around here been waiting years and have cases sat parked at Liverpool.0 -

Thats the thing, I don't have it in writing.
I've never had anything in writing, everything i've been told is from me ringing Thomson myself.
If it wasnt for me chasing it up every couple of weeks i'd still not have had any acknoledgment from the first time I logged the complaint0 -

then insist on it in writing, send them a recorded letter telling them if they dont pay up you will start court action0
