Kitchen refund

You can walk into Wrens and a salesman will sit down and design your Kitchen for free ,no deposit is asked for untill you actually place you order.
So paying a deposit has nothing to do with the hour spent with the poorly trained saleman trying to design your Kichen,
Asking for a deposit up front is just a trick companies use to make it harder for customers to later change their mind if they see a better deal elsewhere.
It is free as long as you take out the order, once you order and pay deposit the design will be passed to their design department as someone will still need to come out and take exact measurements as how does a salesman at his desk know the exact dimensions of the room you want the kitchen fitted. this will be arranged when a deposit is paid, if they dont do this then how will the kitchen fit as floors and walls are not 100% straight or level0 -

As per my previous post looks like full refund is offered. Have not got to the stage of home visit dry to delayed delivery date and extension not being built0

If you decide not to go ahead, Wren can't legally attempt to charge you for something that is clearly stated as free on their website.
well until you pay the deposit you have not created an order, the salesman will, only do a rough design. otherwise the salesman can say you need 100 base units when your actual room can only take 6 base units, so once you place the order and pay deposit they would need to send another designer out to measure up the room and then get a correct design made up.0 -
Yes correct, I'm not really sure what your point is though as I have not disputed that fact0

No designer has been to measure up yet in which case the OP should be entitled to a full refund as they have only had the free consultation.0 -

Just to add....its only a loss if they actually lose out due to the breach of contract.
For example, if they have designers on their staff and they get paid a set wage (rather than commission), this is not a loss caused by the breach as they would've had to pay them whether the consumer had entered into the contract or not, instead it is standard operating costs/overheads.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I purchased a kitchen from Wren, incuded them fitting it cost over £7500.
The salesman used the same software that Wren make available to anyone for the design on line.
No one ever came to our house to check his design would work.
If we had decided not to purchase a kitchen after he had designed it even though at that point we were never even asked for a deposit , are you trying to say they would of sent us an invoice for his time.I don't think so.0 -
Wren should refund you, expect the thumbscrews first though, Manager brought in to match the price of the other supplier etc. etc.
Baring in mind how hard others have found getting a refund out of Wren, I suspect it may not be that simple.
As Al says, Wren will take a deposit off the back of a fag packet and it will be your responsibility if it does not fit, not theirs as you provided the measurements. See the monster Wren thread on here for more details.
They will not start to manufacture your kitchen until you pay in full.
The only person who will lose out would be the salesperson on his commission.
If he is still there that is. Four months at Wren qualifies for a long service award!0 -
:rotfl:yeah it's the bad reviews that have put me off tbh, such a shame as it's a beautiful kitchen from the Linda Barker range, will see how I get on with other kitchen company tomorrow anyway0
