Delayed flight missed connection delayed more than 3 hrs

I was delayed back from geneva to London abs as a result could not make my flight connection back to glasgow.

Ba put us up in a hotel overnight.

Am I entitled to flight delay compensation.

Whilst they put us up in a hotel my flight home meant I missed the 1st half of a rugby game I had bought tickets for. This was an international and the tickets cost £50 each.

Can I claim compensation for delay.

Flights out of Geneva can often be delayed due to bad weather (snow, fog) and if the delay was weather based then there is no claim as outside the control of the airline.
