mhoc I think you have empty nest syndrome :):(

I'm not sure if my nest will ever quite be empty :o but I sort of look forward to it. Love my kids to bits and love being around them but I'm thinking forward to where I'll be by the time they're all off doing their own things :D I still see myself as being on a bit of a career break. I haven't got to where I was originally going yet :rotfl::rotfl:

Have you thought about something just for you? PT job, some volunteering? Maybe you need some me time ;)

Yes I have all sorts of plans for a big re vamp of me but what is holding me back is I've stopped driving - very long complicated reasons why, not even sure if there are reasons. I am my own worst enemy

Yes we have got the very worst case of empty nest syndrome - we actually had a totally empty nest for about 18 months after youngest son went north and we were adjusting nicely - reclaiming the space, making the house our own, making new routines, doing stuff to amuse ourselves rather than Kids etc

    - then at the start of the year eldest son came back to the uk.
He was stationed abroad - been away for 3 years (aside from coming home on leave)
He is now stationed only about 70 mins away and is now doing regular weekday hours, billeted there but at weekends he heads home - not to see us, we are incidental but all of his mates are still local.

We knew this would take some adjustments for all 3 of us and we did discuss this issue in detail - usual stuff like keeping in touch and letting us know if and when he was coming home for the weekend so we could plan meals as and when, not treating the house as a hotel etc
That fell on deaf ears ...

All in all I never sat on the edge of the sofa once....so you didn't miss much. Not keen on the format of that tournament at all. What's next? :D

Next up that I can see is the World Cup in June which is a bit blah imho.

And then it's on to Blackpool in July :j :D :j

No not this time she obviously knew she wouldn't be here long enough for it to get done. Usually she strips the bed before she comes and fills the duvet cover with the washing! It's that heavy I can't lift it.

DD1 finished uni last year and in the whole 3 years she never once brought washing home. Talk about chalk and cheese :)

My gang know I actually like doing laundry so I think they think if they bring me washing it will pacify me :rotfl:
Youngest has been known to strip his bed and bring sheets and duvet cover with him for me to wash :)
Oldest son last weekend came back in his uniform so I could wash it - I draw the line at ironing and pressing - that I refuse to do ...
