One drastic step is to move to a much smaller house, like they do in Tiny House Nation, on TV
    http://www.fyi.tv/shows/tiny-house-nation
200 square-foot homes with a total (I repeat, a total) of ten cubic feet of storage space - for everything:eek::D

I dont have alot of space but have an awful lot of stash:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you for all the help! I've read the useful links on the first post too :)

Do all the filler items have to be different?

Yes they do. If you buy 4 tins of chopped tomatoes they will only be 1 comparable item.

Also bear in mind that the maximum of any one item that will be compared is 10. So if you get 12 tins of salt and vinegar pringles, only 10 of them (with enough fillers) will generate an apg. Therefore if you want 20 tins of salt and vinegar pringles you should split your shop into 2 shops plus enough fillers for each.

Although all you need is 8 items for a comparison, it is safer to get an extra 2 or 3 fillers as you never know when a filler will suddenly not compare anymore as has happened in the past with freddos, chicken flavour instant noodles (which now compare again) etc.

I would rather pay more and get meat from a reputable local butcher.

If only they had not bought the Fox's Ginger Crunch Creams:rotfl:, they could have had a voucher for 50p and then got them for nowt on their next shop:

As it is, the comp. 'flips' vs Waitrose, and offers a useless 13p:(. The 'new' Berry Blast dodgers compare vs Morries at 49p fwiw, although they are cheaper vs T than M. (The Jam & Custard also compare vs expensive everyday "low" price of 49p at M, but I thought that was common knowledge.) If only I had not bought the Ginger Crunch Creams in M, as weren't they the ones that didn't give any "More" points on my shop?

    You are most welcome.

The first post of this thread has info on fillers.

Essentially when you are doing a shop you need to have enough items for a comparison to be possible. So for instance if you are buying glitchy pringles you should have 10 different flavours for a comparison to be possible. Any less and the apg machine will tell you that you do not have enough items for it to do a comparison.

However, if only 2 flavours of pringles are glitching, you will need to buy other items to make up the other 8 items for the comparison. These extra items are called fillers. We generally try to get fillers that are under 50p per item otherwise your apg will be eaten up by the cost of the fillers. Some folk try for 10p per item, so tend to buy the 10p sweets.

If it also necessary to buy fillers when buying any targetted shop that has a trigger as often triggers are invisible, and thus cannot be one of the items that form part of the comparison.

Nitpicking perhaps but the APG needs 8 comparable items, I think Tosco is 10 for price promise.

The proud owner of 6 boxes of 1p honey and salt nuts. Yay!

PD and I spotted them at the very top, way out of reach. Found a Ts manager who actually climbed the shelf and retrieved them for us. He even asked how many we'd like :o:)

One I can actually answer :)

Yes. You need 8 unique items for the APG to work.

Like the pringles glitch, 8 different flavours counted as 8 unique items as they are different products.

8 packs of original would only be 1 of the 8 required

    Thanks!

I'm all out of stupid questions now for this evening! :p
