Thanks TS the only one I'm not bothered if he doesn't get is food tech as he always leaves it until the last minute to tell me the ingredients he needs :rotfl: I'm hoping he gets philosophy as I think the debating will help with his confidenceMorning cheery. Will keep my fingers crossed your DS2 gets the options he wants. It's difficult with the rest of their lives ahead of them to make the right choices at their age. :A

Two of mine did food tech. Wish it had been basic cooking not all this how can we make it better using different flour, sugar etc. Like you was always sprung on me last minute. 11pm one night so was out before school next morning.
Ended up with loads of half used ingredients we didn't usually use. Might even still have some left. :rotfl:0 -

Oh Nanny that bought back wonderful memories of when I used to visit my gran as a child...cashed up my pennies jar so they have a bit of English money to spent whilst they are here.
One of the first things I had to do was actually count the "copper" in the jar then we used to go to the bank and change it up into a note...happy memories of lovely summer holidays spent with my gran..
I hope you have a wonderful time over the next few days with the family.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

The funny thing if my son used to absolutely insist on eating what he had made himself (primary school). He came home with massive loaf of bread he had made and ate it all while he was doing his homework, still ate dinner, absolutely anything he made he insisted on eating alone. He could not understand why he was meant to share when he had made it. Quite funny though, when my DD was too little to eat with us and OH was away once I made his absolute favourite dinner, gave him baked beans on toast and sat down and ate his favourite dinner in front of him. He had a real tantrum, but I told him I had made it so I was going to eat it, he learned his lesson :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Morning all
I have underfloor heating on the whole of the downstairs and in all the bathrooms.. but it uses water. And it's fabulous!! Our heating bills are lower for our house then a much smaller house we lived in previously. I love finding the "hot spots" in the tiled kitchen and warming toes:rotfl: simple pleasures hey?!Very interesting. We were thinking of underfloor but we have solid floors so it would have been difficult. I'm glad we didn't bother reading your story. We revamped the radiator pipe work and replaced some aging radiators instead.....and then had to re-decorate.
When i go to MIL's with her tiled floor (and no underfloor heating), i almost freeze my socks off.
My first house had warm air heating and was brilliant. I didn't like it at first but quickly got used to it.Enterprise_1701C wrote: »We have warm air heating and love it
If it is cold we can get in and turn it on and it will be warm within about 10 minutes, and we don't have all the horrible water pipes running everywhere, and no wall space used up by radiators
That said, we also have a massive 11 foot French window in the lounge and even in the winter if the sun blasts through that it gets quite warm, the house is lovely and warm in the winter with the sun out
We do have cavity wall insulation and loft insulation and double glazing too.
by the way, I'm pringle-less
but i don't mind. They would just be tempting for me to munch on.. Tiger
I'm a body double for Claudia Schiffer and i wont get out of bed for less than [STRIKE]£10k per day[/STRIKE] a 1p find0
