Today my friend calledTax credit help line and after wait of 40 minutes the lady on other side said that normally new clains take 3 weeks but your case is taking long as they are doing further checks (no idea how long it will take) and once done you will be sent an award notice.
Any idea how long the checking process takes and what do they check?
What they need to do if they do not receivec the award notice before April 06, 2015?
Advice/ suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi blondebubbles,
I know that they cant do any thing except wait.
What do you suggest?
I will wait for your reply.
Thanks in advance.0 -
Blonde Bubbles sorry for confusion.
I just wanted to ask if they dont receive any reply till Apr 06 , what they need to do, as they have not received any award notice.
Can they tell about their change in income as previously you suggested to first wait for the award notice and then after Apr 06 they can tell about change in their household income.
Sorry once again for the misconfusion.0 -
Thanks BlondeBubble again.
They have received a form on Saturday asking to send the original passports and the BRP card showing their immigration status.
Few queries,
1) Letter requesting more information has got a different address
Tax Credit Office
Waterview Park
Washington
NE38 8QG
and the self addressed envelope reveived along with the letter has got a different address.
Tax Credit Office
HM Revenue & Customs
New Castle Upon Tyne
NE88 1ZB
They are totally confused in regard to which address they should send the original documents.?
2) Tax office return the documnets after how many days/ weeks?
3) They will despatch the original documents on coming Tuesday and hopefully their clain will be back dated from the date they tax credit office has received the form (they will receive the payment for previous period in one go or 4 weekly installments)
4) As you said previously that its a new claim and they cant inform the tax credit office of their estimated household income for 2015/2016 until tax award notice is issued but as new year has started they stiill need to wait or they can tell the office as other wise their benefits for the new year will also be reduced?
Thanks in advance

Thanks Blonde Bubble you are a star,
I will inform them.
Thanks once again0 -
Sorry for bothering you BlondeBubbles.
My friend told me that they have received their passports and the Bill no luckRP card back which they sent to the tax credits office.
They are calling the help line daily but the advisors have no update on their claim.
Any suggestions for them as its more than 2 months and they are finding it very difficult to carry on like this.
Also as I have asked before and you replied that they cant update their estimated income untill the award is issued so it means they will losing all that in the period their income was reduced .
BlondeBubbles your advise as always will appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Sorry BlondeBublles for bothering you again.
I need your advise regarding my friend.
My friend called the tax credit help line and they said that their claim has been processed and will receive a payment in their bank account soon and when they asked about the award they said it will take couple of weeks to reach.
Now again they are worried as as what what to do as they need to report the chhange in income for 2015/2016 as the award has been issued on 2013/2014
They should call now and tell them about their income at present or they should wait for the award notice to come and then call them after that.
Sorry again for asking stupid questions and bothering you again and again
Thanks in advance.0 -
Thanks Blondebubble for the quick reply,
I have asked them again and they said the Tax credit advisor on the phone said that
"Award has been sent and will take couple of weeks to arrive"0
