Easyjet fares

I was looking to book a flight on Easyjet the other day.
I looked up the fares and then, when I looked again after about ten minutes the fares seemed to have dropped about ten per cent. I booked the flight but when I looked again after about an hour the fares seemed to have returned to their original level.
Was this a new marketing strategy, some sort of individual price quotation system or simply a glitch ?

fares change constantly both up and down0

I booked flights a couple of weeks ago and the price changed during the booking which only took 10 mins! Went through all the screens, got the final price, entered card details and got a message that the price had gone up £10! Was still a bargain so proceeded anyway...0

Fares on point-to-point airlines fluctuate in a reasonably rational and logical manner. It is difficult to see the point of dropping fares for just an hour unless there is a mechanism for informing potential customers that the price drop has occurred. Is there an app that allows people to monitor particular fares ?An alternative hypothesis is that the fares are based on browsing history. This has often been suggested but I have never seen the idea attributed to a specific airline.0

I think my booking changing the price can be ruled out as it was the whole month that seemed to change.0

I have been monitoring Easyjet flights for the past couple of weeks to my destination in Italy (Bologna). They have been fluctuating by small amounts (between £4 and £24). I didn't see a change while actually doing my booking.0
