Jet2 reject letter today over 2 years. worth fighting and how?

Brief summary

Went on a stag do and return flight was delayed for nine hours.
Tryed to claim originally within the two year time frame but got rejected. However a family friend last month said that recent court cases have changed the outcome of claims so tried again and got the two year letter reply
reading on mse it says to 'fight em'. Anybody know what the next step is and has anybody had a successful outcome even though they got a rejection. Really can't help but feel I'm really getting fobbed off
