Switching from Sky to BT
Comments

BT Openreach will supply and set up the fibre service for all providers bar Virgin cable .0

I've always had problems with Sky, even a cancelled house move left us with no phone or broadband for a month and a change in phone number but not one single one with BT (been with them for years now).
Constant excellent speeds and very few drop outs but as someone else stated speeds are dependant on distance from cab & exchange.0 -
BT Infinity is the dogs boll##s and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
But beware of Sky if/when you cancel, as with I/me they continued taking the DD even after my service was cancelled.
Definitely go for Unlimited though, with your particular usage.0 -
Good to hear some feedback on this as I too was looking to switch to BT. Sky's retention team always seems very poor from what I've heard from other people so no wonder so many are switching0

Same for me positive BT experience .
A couple of minor problems have been sorted via Live Chat very quickly .0 -
BT Infinity and Sky fibre are exactly the same product.
Presumably the standard Fibre for £10 a month wasn't a good enough discount so it's probably a case of price versus customer service between the different companies.
For me it's worth a few quid a month extra NOT to deal with BT's version of customer service -but we are all different/I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I have had fibre for two years with talktalk 38mb getting around 22 mb download and 3mb upload. Just Yesterday went live with bt fibre 38mb what a difference download 36mb and upload 12mb. Now if that's not saying something about talktalk and restricting then i don;t know what is. Switch was smooth and very straight foward no hick cups0

Thanks everyone for your helpful posts. We've cancelled Sky and ordered BT Infinity. We've canceled the DD too as Sky couldn't figure out how to pro rate our final bill. Due to switchover on 03 March. Watch this space!0

I saw an offer on MSE for a well priced infinity & tv package from BT.
My handover date was supposed to be 3 days ago. Phone line transferred OK but infinity is not provided. Now been told by BT that it will be 12 days minimum before it is provisioned.
So we are left without any broadband service for 2 weeks. APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE - been mislead, misinformed and they could not care less on the phones.
I can only agree with previous posters that it would have actually been better not to switch as Sky had always been OK. Paying a premium but at least I had internet.
BE WARNED if you try to switch to BT - you might get left with no service at all !!!0
