Has anyone else had a call re a photoshoot entered via MadeForMums?

I've just received a phonecall, which relates to the competition I entered below:

The company who called were from Premier Photoshoot and he knew all my details. He said I had won the VIP Platinum Package worth £500 and then went on to give me details regarding the makeover day. He said an email had been sent. Eventually, he dropped into the conversation that I would need to send a £50 booking fee and, though the package included food and drink, the photos would be discounted and I'd receive discount vouchers for a top London restaurant (reminded me of the Venture photo promotional days!). Therefore, other than the experience, I wouldn't be coming away with anything.

According to the email (which I found in my Trash), it sounds like a runners up prize, but alarm bells are still ringing re sending money. Has anybody else had this call? I'm certainly not sending any money, but am quite unhappy about the fact MadeForMums have provided them with all my details, even though I don't class this as a win. Am I being cynical and should I class this as a win?

I never enter for photoshoots anymore because i can guarantee I will be contacted with some kind of offer or asked to pay money. Not worth it.

I had a very similar conversation this afternoon. I was at work so cut the gent off before he mentioned a booking fee. The gentleman has advised that he was from Premier and I have won the Platinum makeover. So I expect I will get the rest of the jargon should I call him back. Thanks for posting, your not the only one he's called today!:j

Thanks everyone. I thought it was too good to be true and I would never pay anything upfront. I'm surprised at MadeForMums using such a dodgy company and then passing non-winners' details onto them.

I just wanted to post an update. I contacted MadeForMums about this, as I believed Premier Photoshoot acted unfairly. This is the response I received:

Hello again. Right, we have spoken to Premier Photoshoot and sorted this out with them.

Entrants to this particular competition, and any other comp we run with Premier Photoshoot, may well be contacted with details of other Premier Photoshoots promotional offers but they have assured us that no other entrants should have the same experience as you, as going forward they will make it clear that they are making you an offer rather than winning a prize. We apologise for any confusion caused.

Also, we'll also do our absolute best, in future, to make sure that your details are only passed on to the prize provider for promotional purposes if you have consented to this. This is in line with our privacy policy, which you can read at http://www.immediate.co.uk/privacy-policy/.
