Search on file from Sunny loans- but I've not applied #?

Hi All

I'm hoping someone may be able to calm me down. I recently cleared up my credit file and am receive alerts from Equafax. Today I had an email to say there was an alert, I logged on to discover Sunny.co.uk have run 2 checks but I've never searched Sunny loans let alone applied for one!!!

Why would they search me if I have not applied? and if how can I stop them?

Any advice/ guidance would be gratefully received. I have managed to get myself in an ok financial position I don't want this to put a brake on that!

Have you checked your files to make sure you don't have any financial associates on it? If you do and they applied for the loan, your files would be searched too.

If you have no financial associates listed, sounds like ID fraud. Contact Equifax and inform them of this and do the same with your Experian and Noddle files if they show up on there too.

Do you live with anyone else? Has a family member/partner possibly tried to take out credit in your name without you knowing?

I live with my partner, I guess he may have searched one but I would seem strange for him not to mention it- I will ask him when I get home.

Also, do you have a joint account/any other joint products with your partner?
