Help me choose a job title

  • Hi,

Why don't you stick with Administrator and have the new job as Administration or Clerical Assistant?

Good luck with the changes from some one in a similar, but opposite, position, my hours may be reduduced next year due to a reduction in overall organisation workload.

    Best wishes. :rolleyes2

That's one idea, but we want to reflect the fact that the job we're asking them to do is not a '16 year old school leaver' type job, which the 'assistant' might suggest. They are going to take the lead on the 'front of house' function and take responsibility for some areas as well, with me providing back up when required ...

Anyway, I've got some ideas there, and if I come up with a corker I can try selling it to the Managers. I'm trying to avoid Office Manager because we're going to have 3 Managers, and I don't really think we need another one. :rotfl:Plus I shall be managing things not people, which suits me, I don't want the idea of me line managing the admin team to cross anyone's mine too fast! :rotfl:

Unless someone likes to suggest a better title than Manager for them?

How about "God" - single syllable short and catchy and not many people in the running :rotfl:

Strikes me as a good one as without you no-one gets paid they have nowhere to work in, and nothing to work on!

    Good luck with it

Just thought I'd let you all know we're probably going for Resources Coordinator, which fits in with our current staff structure as we have another Coordinator who holds our Drop-In together.

Need to get it past our trustees but I doubt they'll argue.

We're advertising my old post as Office Administrator to reflect the fact they don't have to deal with our clients (much) but they'll probably just be the Administrator. A recent Maths graduate phoned to enquire today, but I said I wouldn't hold that against her if she'd got the experience. :rotfl:
