OK ADVICE PLEASE.
I have been paying a anything happens insurance plan for a laptop i bought from pc world in 2007, hardly any problems in all those years so hardly any fixes to it. last week we stupidly run over it long story but kids were messing about jumping in out car i put it down for a moment to run round get them back in, got in car forgot it was even there and drove off, you guessed it traight over the top of it!!
they came to collect said it would be fine on the phone as we were covered. called yesterday and they said they have sent back to us to unfixed as it was caused through negligence and we had to write of to explain what happened etc but still no guarantee they would repair. i have been paying this plan since 2007 any advice please very angry right now

You could try asking them again but I doubt very much if they will do anything.
If this is the plan that you have:
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/care-plans-terms-condition-374-commercial.html
They do have an exception in the T&C's that would allow for their refusalWHAT IS NOT INCLUDED:
Repair or replacement of the product which has been neglected, abused, misused, or damaged intentionally. You must take reasonable care of the product0 -
I always leave my laptop in just the right place so the car will run over it......0

how much do you pay a month...assuming average laptop £500 back in 2007 you have paid about £750 in premiums :eek:0

The first thing that you should do when you get the laptop back is to buy something like this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sata-Hard-Drive-Caddy-Enclosure/dp/B003MVVPZI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423780635&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+hdd+caddy
The exact type that you need will depend on the hard disk fitted in the laptop.
Even though the case and screen will be wrecked, there is a very good chance that the hard drive will be okay and you should hopefully be able to retrieve the pictures and GCSE work from it.0 -

If you go onto the "Techie stuff" forum:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=29
and post on there explaining what has happened and give the make and model number of the laptop, there are plenty of very knowledgeable will be able to tell you exactly what sort of hard drive caddy you need.
Someone will probably be able to tell you exactly how to get the drive out of the laptop and how to get the info from the drive.0 -
Have you written to them? And have they replied?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
