Special MSE Deals on Broadband and Line Rental

It says in the deals on here negotiated by MSE - that the deals expire at midnight on the 19th Feb...

Does anyone know which way it's likely to go AFTER the 19th?

I'm moving house - and am contract free - so at liberty to take any deal going! :)

I just need broadband - not interested in TV packages - but of course will need to pay for a line rental (:() even though I'm unlikely to use it as I use my mobile for all unlimited calls etc... The Talk Talk and Sky deals look good (with Sky getting the better public polls...)

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Ta

Nope, unfortunately my crystal ball is in for it's annual service today :D

Seriously though, there are always good deals about. Don't forget about TCB or Quidco when you decide which provider to go for as often the cashback can be significant (but not always guaranteed so don't rely on it as the deciding factor). :money:
  • Went to sign up for thus - but couldn't bring myself to pay the 'activation' fees

Shame - otherwise a great deal (for BT)
  • Yeah, cheers mije  haha

So what you're saying (seriously) is that even if I miss this 19th Feb deadline - it's likely there will be similar deals around anyway, yeah?
  • I applied for BT Fibre Broadband, Telephone Line and TV on 23 January for the house we have just moved into. After a lot of chasing, the phone line was finally activated on 3 February, but the Broadband, originally promised for 3 Feb, was delayed until 11th.

That day has come and gone and without explanation or apology, the date has been changed to 19th. I have no idea whether they are going to keep to that date, or whether it is a ploy to keep me on contract until it suits them to activate my broadband.

There has been no acknowledgement of my order for BT TV either.
I am so disgusted with the disinterested service from BT that I am thinking about cancelling the whole order and going with Talk Talk.

I think this is a factor to be taken into account when recommending BT. They even changed the 'order received' date to 12th February for the order I placed on 23 January, presumably to hide the delays in their delivey stats.

Yes there are quite often deals to be had, whether on this site, somewhere like uSwitch, or even direct to the provider themselves (via a cashback site of course).

They may or may not be better than the current deals but there will always be something similar around the corner. Best thing to do is to find out which providers are available at your new address, and then keep an eye out for what they offer.

Having said that, if one of the deals on here now is good for you then go for it. But don't rush in just because it's ending.
  • Yeah mije - you're right.

Bentley - sorry to hear about the trouble you've had with BT - and thanks for the heads up.

Deals aside, I must say I'm a bit concerned that being out in the sticks, BT may yet be my only option anyway :(
