So you don't accept any responsibility for not paying 12 months worth of payments ? And you blame EE and the Bank ? How can you "not be in a position to check" for 12 months ? No one works 24 hours a day and can't access the internet for a whole 12 months.

Wow, 21st century got you hooked, huh?

I had no internet for well over 12 months. I had no interest in using the internet at all for well over 2 years. It seemed like a waste of money. I received no emails of importance, didn't apply to get anything through email or send anything through email - the only internet access I had was at work, which was restricted to purely work related business, and anything outside of that was a sackable offence.

I worked (including travel time) about 11 hours per day, minus weekends (which was time spent in the gym, looking after an elderly relative and shopping for food) Even if I did have access to the internet, I wouldn't have found the time to be on there - certainly not checking a credit file that was of no interest to me because I'd (as far as I knew) never missed a payment.

Why offer a service you cannot provide, and then not tell the customer when it's not provided?

Either way, this would've shown up as a late payment even if they had provided me with the information that the DD hadn't worked.

Getting a poor mark on my file was inevitable due to their mistake.
    I can't add up.

380 posts since October. You're certainly making up for things now.

  • Yes, I came on here in October, which was my first internet usage in any recreational sense since I was a teenager.

As my Nan would have said 'give over'! Even if you couldn't access the internet, you still have a responsibility to check things. You could have called the bank (using another phone) to request paper statements so you could keep an eye on things. There is ALWAYS the possibility of technical errors and you should check.

You need to take this one on the chin and admit it is in the majority your fault.

So when I'm told something's going to be done automatically, I should just assume that it's a lie and that the bank are incompetent? Ok.

Your continual use of hyperbole to distract from your awful financial management isn't doing you any favours.

No, you shouldn't assume it's a lie. But with best will in the world, mistakes happen and it really is your responsibility to check. The bank might not have been incompetent, it could have been a genuine error and if you had noticed sooner the repercussions would have been less.

You can make all the excuses you want but the person who doesn't check their bank account for 12 months really shouldn't be surprised if things go wrong.

I got into debt when younger and was silly but one thing I never did was try to blame someone else.

For excellent credit you need to monitor accounts regularly including any service providers. You ignored your bank account and EE.

We don't know all the info to know where the blame lies but I would recommend checking regularly or something similar will happen again. I trust no one but myself to ensure everything is done correctly.

Ee didn't ask you to switch bank accounts.

A problem occurred during the switching process and you haven't paid EE for a long time. They have therefore defaulted you.

Seems fair to me. What else could or should have happened? Do you think you shouldn't be liable for the money because the bank made an error?
    What will your verse be?

What ridiculous excuses. I'm a single Mum with 2 kids, i work full time. I shop, cook, clean, do everything that needs doing for my family and i still find time to keep up with the important stuff. Like making sure bills are paid. Did you really not check your bank account for 12 months ?

EE aren't going to be interested in your lame excuses. They're just not believable.
