Well my first thoughts would be 'meh' but then I may well use computers for different things than you do.

You should probably explain what activities you need your computer for and how important certain things are to you? Do you crave speedy performance? Do you need to do lots of multitasking (several windows open at once - music/video player, web pages, Office documents etc.)?

Looks like a solid computer to me. I'd complain about the screen resolution, but you'd probably be at £400+ to get a better one. If you're not already using a higher res screen, seems good for the price!

If £300 is your budget, then you're not getting ripped off. If you wish to play Crysis at full bells and whistles or compile Linux kernels in record time then you need to spend more money.

For general computing such as email, office, facebook etc then this will be fine.

Do you listen to music on CD or stream it from Google/Spotify?

If so, you could save another £100 by getting a Chromebook and forgoing the optical drive.

Looks like a nice laptop anyhow. :)

My OH bought me one of these. I was a bit annoyed as I saw it as a lesser brand but I'm delighted with it.

For everyday use it is fine - and robust (I tend to haul mine around the country a bit)

I'd buy another one in the future.

Good choice. Lenovo are the biggest PC manufacturer in the world, and their brand rated second best for laptops (after Apple) by Laptop Mag.

  • Don't worry about what they told you Loopylass, they were just trying to get more money from you. Make sure you use a decent AV such as Avira or AVG, and make recovery discs or on usb hard drive/flash drive.
