Another MAC code question

Are MAC codes required to transfer from BT Infinity to another Fibre to the curb provider?
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

    But will the new supplier use the MAC code?


    I just went through an ADSL switch got charged a cessation fee of £30 because the new supplier does not use the MAC process.
    Quite curious what happens for FTTC.
