I phoned my bank today to check if the DD was active, they comfirmed it was already cancelled via the mag sub company, but better being safe than sorry0

Cashback now marked as payable at the full £5.05 even though I only spent £1! So I've been paid to take the deal! Love that
lol 2nd issue arrived today, so no probs there.
Had a letter confirming the payment arrangements last week, but no payment has been taken and the DD is not showing as set up in my bank account either.Minimalist

No, it takes a while for them to take payment & for it to appear in your DD list. I made a mistake the first time & cancelled the DD too soon without checking to see if they had taken payment. It turned out they hadn't (!) so I lost out. I didn't make that mistake again!Money, money, money, must be funny, in the rich man's World!0 -
The letter will specify the date of the first (£1) payment and date of subsequent ones. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

No cancellation email but haven't got second issue. Will keep an eye on my DD list via Internet Banking. Got cashback anyway!0

The contract is with BuySubscriptions, and unless they are informed that you (nicola00) want to cancel, they will almost certainly attempt to take the next (£33.80) DD. This will fail, of course, because you have cancelled the authority at your end. However, depending on your particular bank and how kindly they look upon you, you could find yourself charged a 'failed transaction' fee.0 -

I thought that a 'failed transaction fee' was only charged when a payment bounced due to insufficient funds, not when a DD had been stopped.0 -
The Radio Times 12 issues for £1 offer is back again.

The following link will return the offer you're after - just set the top 'RT region' box to a different region if you don't want the 'London, Anglia and Midlands' version.

If you're quick, there's also another offer available especially for Mother's day (March 15). It's an immediate DD commitment of £29.99 for 26 issues (equivalent to £1.15 per issue, rather than the current £2.00 shop price) PLUS a bonus gift of a 'Box of White Chocolate and Raspberry Fudge' from Fudge Kitchen.

If like me you're interested in getting a good DD subscription price for as long a period as possible, you may be interested to note that the above two offers (ignoring the box of choclates gift) are of equal value - to within 64p - after you've received 104 issues (2 year's worth). After that, the box of chocolates offer is the cheaper, whereas before that the 12 for £1 offer is the cheaper. So, it's all a matter of guessing how long buysubscriptions will let your DD run before advising you of an increase.
(My reason for searching now is that they have just advised me that my DD is to be increased from £36.40 - which it's been for 2.5 years - to £49.92 for 26 issues. [Compare: 26 issues in the shops is currently 'only' £52.] )0
