            Evening.
So I've got a few bits and pieces on ebay at the moment - including a designer something, which is almost brand new and rather than go through the auction hell, I've popped a buy it now price on which is a huge bargain for anyone looking for said something.
So I was a bit flabbergasted when someone asked me what the lowest price was that I would take for said item. I politely responded that the buy it now price - which includes p&p - is the lowest I can go. I should say that I'd researched the price before setting it, and it's got double figures in watchers at the mo. so I'm not planning on budging.
And then I went from flabbergasted to being a bit impressed - here was a lady literally living the MSE way. She'd seen something she wanted, at a price she didn't want to pay and took a chance on being able to negotiate a more acceptable price.
And then I went from being impressed to being a bit annoyed as I had several more messages from her asking me to contact her if I changed my mind, and setting out the amount she was prepared to pay, which would be quite a bit less.
And then I went from being annoyed to being a little bit sad - because along with the impressive negotiation technique, and a bit of overkill, she's given me a fair bit of back story and it sounds like she's having a tough time. It's made me think that what she really needs, isn't a nice designer something - it's just a hug and someone to talk to.
So I'm sending out a virtual hug and a cuppa to every one that needs it today, especially if you've just sent 6 messages to a random stranger on ebay.

You're a very kind soul Nora. And absolutely right - though we've probably all made that mistake and it's part of how we've ended up on this forum... at least now we have learnt that lesson.

*snort* I'm not that kind. I've just had to repress the urge to double the price of said item.RosaBernicia wrote: »You're a very kind soul Nora.
