Travelling to Holland, do I need anything?
Morning all,
Going to Rotterdam at the end of March.
I will be travelling via euro-tunnel, then up through France and Belgium to Holland.
Any special things I need (legally or advisory)?

Short and sharp response, like your style.
If everyone used google this place wouldn't exist, smarty pants! lol.
However, I am asking for advice from members as well as the rulings.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -
Passport would be a good start -as for the rest-if you can't be bothered to google for the basics (and are rude) why would anyone bother helping you ?

I haven't been rude, you just have been.
My posts have been in good humour (that's what the "lol's" and  are all about), and again I am looking for advice and hints and tips not legal rulings.
I have helped many members on here, and recieved lots of help, so yes you do reap what you sow.
Now.... do you have any advice?Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -

First thing I noticed was that they drive on the wrong side of the road. I found it helped to copy them . . .;)0 -
What sort of spare tyre do you have (if anything)?
And watch out for people on bicycles.:D0 -
If your car has a petrol engine fill the tank with petrol.
Alternatively, if your car has a diesel engine fill the tank with diesel.:)0 -
Check your car and breakdown insurance. They may have limits once you leave the UK0

if you break down on a toll road or motorway you cant call your own recovery via insurance you have to call a French highways government department and pay a recovery fee. use you own for other road types.
if your drivng through or in belguim you need an IDP http://www.rac.co.uk/travel/driving-abroad/international-driving-permit

RAC had it all in one place it took less than 5 mins to find these. google is your friend.
Youll need:
Headlamps converted.
Fire extinguisher.
GB stickers if no GB plates fitted.
Red Warning triangle.
High Viz vest or jacket (in emergencies).
First Aid Kit.
if going into places affected by snow reguarly in winter, its handy to have some kind of snow chain or snow sock incase you get stuck.
Some Netherland province laws require that during the months of winter winter tyres are fitted to your vehicle trams always have right of way no matter what even if you think you should have right of way. and DONT SOUND YOUR HORN unless in emergency its a nice little earner for the police out there with UK drivers, flash lights instead and at night. and you cant cross solid white lines even to turn into a side junction you should follow the road for somewhere to turn and double back.
carry multiple ID's on you not just passport and license.
Take V5C MOT and insurance docs and carry them at all times in the car.
Carry bottles of water and antifreeze mix's.
