Do you take vitamins or any other supplements?

  • Do you take vitamins or other health pills/powders? I used to think of them as a bit of a waste of money, but now I'm not so sure.

In the past I've had to take vitamin D and Iron when ive had blood tests come back low. I would nip into health food shops to grab nibbles and see people spending £80-100 on pills and be shocked.

Recently I've read more and more people swearing by them and saying the RDA is the bare minimum (I know the water soluble stuff you can't OD on, but the fat soluble you can), and I also only just read that vegetarians should take vitamin B which I never realised.

If you take them then do you find they have made a difference?

I take ZMA for sleep, it is really good and helps me get a great nights sleep although you do get funky dreams.
Do you have a fitness blog? Would you like free 'branded' sports nutrition products to review? If so then PM me for details...
  • Oh and my wife who has suffered with poor sleep for years also takes it and after 1 week she is also getting at least 6 hours a night now.

  • I take a few daily. The main thing to remember about vitamins is that the cheap brands don't get their minerals etc from organic sources, they are usually artificial. Whats the difference? You're body digests and absorbs the vitamins etc quicker if they are natural.

I did a lot of digging and found some really good brands that use organic materials. So daily I take

1 Natures way Alive Once Daily Men's Multi Ultra Potency
    1
Natures way Chromium tablet (really good for preventing sugar cravings)

When I'm exercising etc I'll take

    3 Onnit Shroom tech sport

If I'm at work and need a boost or need to zone in on something I'll take

3 Onnit Alpha Brain tablets (amazing product but pricey)
    :santa2:
  • There is a lot of rubbish sold in supermarkets and other well know high street stores, cheap often means substandard, I have seen cheap whey protein sold that is less than 50% protein but people buying it don't realise.
