Do you take vitamins or any other supplements?

I buy quite a few supplements ordering from the USA because they are cheaper and stronger. The list would be too long. The only one I buy in the UK high street is the H&B Triple strength Fish Oil, but only during the penny sale.
Which U.S. vitamins site do you buy from, if you don't mind me asking? Do you have to pay much for shipping and import fees?
I buy my supplements (Magnesium malate, folate, methyl b12, omega 3 fish oil, Vit D, K & Iodine...) from Amazon due to ease of ordering and pretty competitive pricing, but if I can save money by ordering from the USA I'd be really interested in finding out. :money:0 -

It's iherb.com.
I don't necessarily vouch for them. Sometimes (rarely I must say) they do mess up, but then they gave me a refund.
Make sure to select the Airmail option and make sure that the total value (excluding shipping if using Airmail or including shipping if using DHL) doesn't exceed £15. Check on the HMRC the official conversion rate between pound and dollar.
If you need a referral, PM me.
They have good us brands (Doctor's Best, Now Foods) at higher potency than in UK and much cheaper than Amazon UK.
Another option is using Amazon USA. Again, make sure they deliver to the UK and the total value is less than £15.0 -
Take one tablet every other day?
Or even just say on a Saturday & Sunday.
Why take supplements at all? If Hedgehog has seen a nutritionist and followed their advice so is getting the right nutrition from a varied diet then there's no need to take supplements.
To answer the OP's question - I take a folic acid supplement most days (when I remember), simply because it is recommended for women 'of childbearing age' to reduce the likelihood of some birth defects and miscarriage.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

.
My comment was aimed at the poster saying they were not happy with the dosages given.
Thus take 1/2 tablet or take less frequently0 -

In the past I've had to take vitamin D and Iron when ive had blood tests come back low. I would nip into health food shops to grab nibbles and see people spending £80-100 on pills and be shocked.
Recently I've read more and more people swearing by them and saying the RDA is the bare minimum (I know the water soluble stuff you can't OD on, but the fat soluble you can), and I also only just read that vegetarians should take vitamin B which I never realised.
If you take them then do you find they have made a difference?
IMO there are so many out there and people get sucked in thinking this and that will help when alot of it is just good marketing
One of the best and cheapest sites around is
http://www.simplysupplements.net/
Free delivery and quite alot of there items are on BOGOF plus if you shop around you will normally find a discount code.
I take -
A-Z multi vit
1000mg cod liver oil
1000mg vit c - Got 365 day supply from ebay for under £10
In the Winter I might pick up vit D
You can get a years supply for all of these for peanuts, unless you need to add something else in for possibly joint issues I wouldn't bother wasting my money on anything else.0 -

At the moment the only supplement that I but on UK high street is generic Vitamin C from Poundland or Savers.0 -
Interesting and a possible alternative to Holland & Barrett or Boots, but nowhere near the strength and the choice available on American sites.

I agree there products are far superior but for me I don't think you will see any great difference in taking a one with alot more ingredients in it or high dosages, just pick up a good quality multi vit.0 -

And there's no such a thing as a quality multi. The organic form of vitamins and minerals in multis is inferior to the one in standalone form.0
