Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning All
Glad I missed the attack of the spam. Not sure what can be done about it.
I had a bit of a wobble about using the sites over the weekend. Asked what I thought was a perfectly reasonable question in another thread and got a load of sarcastic tw@ts replying. It just put me off.
    So I had a break.
Have spent this morning doing some research for new ideas for the business, whilst also waiting in for a BT engineer.
Then went out for loo roll, fruit & a loaf. Whilst at Mr Ts found lots of YS meat so I stocked up as Im still within my food budget. Put 2 500g packs of beef mince into the freezer for only £1.75 each, will get 4 meals at least from that. Plus 2 packs of 2 pork shoulder. Have kept one out and frozen the other. I may be able to avoid doing a full shop this week now so £13 well spent.
Have checked my banking, been paid an invoice from lady Im working for. Put in my new one as well.
Bit of an annoying one, we moved away from BT back in October due to high costs. Tried another supplier. They have been useless. Its a company called Supanet. Without boring youn all, decided the best thing to do would be just to go back to BT who can as it turns out provide us with a cheaper deal than we were paying anyway. But in the midst of that, they charged us £50 to reconnect. And the other company are charging us £129 to pay off the contract. Weep. But ultimately we will have a good long term cheap deal that actually provides what we need. So bit of an expensive exercise all in all. Negotiating with Snet to allow us to make that final payment at the end of the month rather than right now.
Happy with direction emergency fund is taking, now at £500 since november. Fingers crossed we can keep it up and not need to borrow it this time.
Still awaiting my energy bill eagerly, cant wait to see if we've chopped a bit more off the in debt balance. Once its gone thats another £35 a month to throw at things.

Ally - Was glad to read your contract had been extended. Thats great!
JoJo - Glad the party went well, sorry to hear about the ipad though.

I think it might be my first time commenting on these threads.

    Today I've:

    1) Pre-planned our meal for tonight (chicken burgers)
    2) Sent children and husband out with packed lunches.
    3) Balance transferred a 15.9% CC debt to a 6.9% CC with no fee.
    4) Signed up to postcode lottery
    5) Signed up to a mystery shopper company
    6) Checked budget spreadsheet and bank account

Why is everyone on about their emails?
Grateful to finally be debt free!

I am loving the Tesco petrol discounts. I had a booking last year where I was driving to work and it saved me amazing amounts of money. I'm commuting by train at the moment so not buying much petrol at all but still worth waiting until I'm near a MrT petrol station.

    Hi Monday Savers,
Busy day....the small money saving bits are:
*Laundry done overnight on Economy 7. Timer set for another cheap load tonight.
*Massive frost overnight, everywhere white, but sunny, so pegged laundry out. Has had a good airing & will just need finishing off overnight on the heated airer.
    *De-cluttered today's 9 items.
*Did rubber chicken. It did a roast yesterday. Have divvied up the leftovers & there's enough to make a chicken madras, Smoky BBQ chicken topped pizza & some stew. Also 2 packed lunches. Carcass in slow cooker percolating into stock.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch & work snacks.
*Wrapped ebay parcel (all recycled stuff except for the brown tape) & posted it. Have sold another item today (a craft mag). It all adds up.
    *Free fitness. Did exercise DVD.
*Sowed fist veg seeds of the year - Chillies - now in my little cheapo heated propagator on the windowsill. A great year for veg last year, so am hoping for more good crops this time, all being well.
Think that's it. Must go & crack on with the curry now, & fetch the laundry in as I expect it will freeze again tonight.
New week, so a new start for anyone who needs one.....& hopefully a week free of sarcastic tw@ts for Bobarella.
    Cheers,
    f x

Why is everyone on about their emails?

For me I have been de-cluttering my emails and PC to become more efficient. I think the idea is that if you've subscribed to a lot of "spam" emails you might want to go through an unsubscribe from them as they clutter up your box and waste your time. Also, if you de-clutter your emails you might find some important ones you need to act on.

What is "rubber" chicken/pork etc? Always see people saying it but not a clue what they mean - so I've bitten the bullet and asked the question even if I do look silly if it's completely obvious!!!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)

    Hi Crafting Mad & Cake,
Nice to meet you both. Doesnt matter whether you are DF or not, just whoever wants to join in each day. That must be a real worry about impending unemployment CrafingMad.
Cake - As Ally says, think the email thing is a digital declutter so you feel less overwhelmed in your inbox as it were.

    Thanks FVD and Foxgloves.

Hi, craftingmad, lovely to "see" you, sorry I haven't been on the craft stash thread yet (haven't done much crafting) and really sorry to hear about your husbands job
Why is everyone on about their emails?

For me it's also about the shopping temptations and offers, plus comping tends to sign you up for endless newsletters so I reckon if I cull a few every day I should never miss the important stuff amidst all the rubbish
