I need a quad band phone w/o camera!

Why "without camera"? This makes choosing a phone a lot harder as you're artificially reducing the selection. I'm not a big fan of phone cameras either but in the end I prefer a phone that appeals to me and works for me, even if I don't use the camera.
That said, you also don't need a quad-band phone for the USA - I've always managed with a tri-band phone.0 -
I don't know about Tangoaid, but for some of us, having a camera on your phone means leaveing your phone at home when going to work, or losing your job if it's spotted.0

Yes, you are spot on! I cant use a camera phone at work!
The Sony Ericsson W950i matches your requirements:

I'm considering getting one myself to replace my long-suffering Nokia 6310i - not so much because I can't use a camera but more because I really don't care for one in a mobile phone.
Just so you can be sure that there is no camera, contrast the official specification of the W950i with that of its replacement, the W960i, which does have a camera:

Reestit MuttonFor anyone wishing to contact me privately to ask me a question, can I ask that you email me directly as my PM box is often full.0 -

Thought so! I'm not in that situation at the moment, but whenever I get a contract in such places I just get a cheap nasty throwaway phone for the duration. It's a PITA that I have to leave my PDA at home, just because it's a phone and camera as well, but I use a foreign sim to control costs when travelling anyway, so am often juggling phones and simcards.0 -
Looks great! thanks!
but....UMTS 2100.. similiar to GSM 850 used in the US?
Cheers

I'm pretty sure the US uses GSM 1900 as well. Actually this list confirms that they do:

Most Tri-Band phones I know of are GSM 900/1800/1900 and they usually work in the US. GSM coverage is still patchy out there, mind. But then again there are plenty of places at least in the Southwest where my wife's Verizon phone doesn't work either.
Forgot to say, UMTS 2100 is a 3G standard, not GSM which is 2G/2.5G.0 -
Yeah, some network uses 1900 though others use 850...
Might be going for this...

Given that both Cingular and T-Mobile are using GSM 1900, that should give you enough coverage with the phone you listed above.0
