UKCPS Ticket centertainment sheffield

Hi,

Ive been reading around the site for the past 3 hours today and previously when the parking ticket was first placed on the car window.

It looks as if I've took the wrong advice as i didn't realise UKCPS was now IPC member and not BPA. Completely confused on what to do now as reading old/new posts is just confusing me more.

We've received the penalty for parking (out of a bay) when we come out the cinema.

We've now received the first letter i believe 30+ days after the event in question.

Shall we now proceed to send the template appeal letter in the sticky on the forum?

Shall we also send an email and complain to the owners of the land at centertainment sheffield? aswell as Cineworld?

Thanks in advance, any time helping will be greatly appreciated.

Yes to all the above, its not a penalty though and even if you lose with your challenge to the PPC/IAS/IPC then you are under no obligation to pay.

  • Just found this whilst looking on the centertainment website....

    PARKING ENFORCEMENT SCHEME

We understand that parking at Valley Centertainment can be difficult at busy times and advise customers to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

To help our customers park more easily, we have introduced a new parking enforcement scheme.

    Please note the following restrictions:
Parking at Valley Centertainment is for visitors to the leisure park only (not applicable to park and ride users during the day).
Customers may be asked to provide proof of purchase (not applicable to park and ride users during the day).
Please park in marked bays only.
Blue badge holders only in disabled spaces.
Please do not park on roadways or footpaths.
Failure to meet these regulations may result in a Parking Charge notice. Thank you for your co-operation.

For all parking enquiries contact UKCPS:
    Tel: 0113 245 6080

For information on parking appeals procedure click here.

    Is it still worth complaining?

Sorry, Dr Shoe but you obviously haven't got a clue.

    To the OP
Yes you should complain, this section

all goes to their agents website/email UKCPS

    This page here http://www.valley-leisure.co.uk/parking-enforcement-scheme
also uses words such as enforcement, the so called appeals procedure ( its nothing of the sort as you have nothing to appeal against as UKCPS have no statory power) is also littered with big words like Enforcement and Appeal - it also talks about POPLA.
do the on site signs mention the BPA?
from what I understand UKCPs no longer belong to this trade association, and it may also be a real offence to falsely claim membership of a trade association that they do not belong to.

As mentioned above the contacts all go to their contractors UKCPS
If you went to a store and were insulted, or treated badly by a staff member would you accept the response from the store management that it was nothing to do with them - contact the employment agency who supply our staff?

Try contacting centertainment with a complaint about unlawful penalties etc and also try here going by the website t hey are owned by legal and general: http://www.lgim.com/uk/en/property/contact-us/

Do not get fobbed off with the nothing to do with us, contact UKCPS type of response.

Also with UKCPs changing over to IPC is their contract still valid with legal and general?

another thing to ask yourself - did your parking cause a loss to the landowner of the same amount that their contractors are demanding?
and if they are claiming thats its a contractually agreed sum, is it a fair contract, or is it a disguised penalty where the amount is only there to act as a deterrent?

My car was ticketed last year at valley centertainment whilst going to the cinema and for food for 'parking outside of a marked bay'. It was at the rear of the cinema on the hatched area on the corner near to the tram line, there could easily be two additional spaces there and it would make no difference to navigating the corner.

It's infuriating as there isn't enough parking to cater for everyone, the arena charges £3 and the retail park next door with the massive car park also has these parasites 'enforcing' with a camera system. The busiest time at the cinema is when the retail park is closed so why not have it as an overflow? This is probably down to different ownership. Also if there is an event at the arena then people park in the centertainment car park.

Anyway I got the NTK letter and sent the template letter from the main thread back and got an 'appeal rejected' letter back from the UKCPS bottom feeders. Next move is to complain to Valley centertainment and include the things mentioned above and a few others, such as them having my familie's custom for over the past decade on an almost weekly basis and I get a ridiculous demand for money when they really haven't lost anything due to my car being parked 'out of a marked bay'.

Also I want to say thank you to the regular contributors on this forum whose information and responses are very helpful and much appreciated.

Also on the 'appeal rejected' letter they still have the BPA logo at the bottom, as they are no longer a member they should not have this on.

Thanks a lot with the reply!
I shall contact legal and general swell

One more quick question, what do i put on the end of the letters and emails? My name? as in who was driving or the owner of the vehicle?

One of the most recent things that weve seen is the ongoing saga with Fergie APCOA and the NHS hospital where it appears that APCOA dont have a contract to offer/charge for parking at that site.

If UKCPs have jumped ship from BPA to IPC then will /does that have any implications for their relationship with centertainment?
Ive recently dealt with a G24 issue for someone ( off forum using the old fashoined method of face to face ) where the store manager of the place that has G24 infesting their car park was convinced that G24 were abiding by the rules set out by the BPA.

Although tis not been touched upon - would the car park owners, such as in the case of Centertainment and Legal and general have any liability should their agents (UKPC) claim to belong to a trade association to which they dont belong?

TRBob- not that we condone hijacking:-))), have you had any follow-up sewage from UKCPS?

Useful timescale info for op and others. You wrote 'last year'- when?

Hope you complained vociferously re: 'they still have the BPA logo at the bottom, as they are no longer a member they should not have this on.'

op - check this and do likewise if BPA appears anywhere on signage or comms.

Apologies, it was not my intention to hijack the thread, just to share my experience with UKCPS.

My car was ticketed on the 22nd November, the NTK is dated 23rd December but I received it the week between Christmas and New Year I think or maybe even the beginning of January. The template reply was sent around the 6th of January and I received the 'Appeal rejected' letter on the 3rd February.

    I have prepared this letter below to valley centertainment and I'll send it to Legal and General as well. Any comments will be appreciated regarding improvement;

I am writing this letter of complaint regarding a parking charge that I as the registered keeper of the vehicle have received from your parking contractor UKCPS. Firstly I will not identify who the driver was at the time, but I will outline the circumstances.
On the 22nd of November 2014 my car was ticketed last year at valley centertainment whilst going to the cinema and for food for 'parking outside of a marked bay'. It was at the rear of the cinema on the hatched area on the corner near to the tram line, there could easily be two additional spaces there and it would make no difference to navigating the corner.

Virtually every time that myself, family and friends have visited Valley Centertainment over the past few years there are problems finding a parking space, which often results in late admission to the film or even missing the film completely. Having to park elsewhere and walking quite a distance even when plenty of time has been allowed to find a space is unacceptable, this is especially worse when bringing children along for what is hoped to be a pleasant family outing, but often the result is a stressful experience for all of us.
It's infuriating as there isn't enough parking to cater for everyone, the arena charges £3 and the retail park next door with the very large car park also has a parasitic ‘parking solutions’ company 'enforcing' with a camera system. The busiest time at the cinema is when the retail park is closed so why not have it as an overflow? This is probably down to different ownership I suspect. Also if there is an event at the arena then people park in the centertainment car park which takes up spaces meant for the paying customers at valley centertainment.
As the registered keeper of the vehicle I sent a response to UKCPS’ initial demand for payment (with it’s threatening and bullying language) and they have replied with an APPEAL REJECTED letter again with threatening language.
As a result of my vehicle being parked on the hatched area, there was no monetary loss suffered by Valley Centertainment. So how is it justified that as someone that has been a customer at Valley Centertainment for over a decade now on an almost weekly basis, spending thousands of pounds over that time be unfairly given a so called ‘parking charge’ for my vehicle being parked in a place that did not cause any harm/obstruction or loss of revenue to Valley Centertainment?
Attached is a scan of some of my recent cinema tickets to prove my regular custom.
Another note regarding UKCPS is that on their letters of correspondence it states that they are a member of the British Parking Association (BPA), yet on the BPA website UKCPS are not listed as being a member. This does not reflect well upon your parking contractor, claiming that they are part of a regulatory body when in fact they are not.
In conclusion it would be appreciated if you would instruct UKCPS as the landowner to discontinue their pursuit of payment. In addition it would be welcome by all of your customers if something was done to address the major problem with parking at Valley Centertainment.
