Can anyone find a cheaper flight??

I'm trying to find flights for 2 adults to Chania in Crete leaving any airport in the UK on 4th Sept 07 and returning 11th Sept 07 (+/- a couple of days either way).
So far the cheapest I've found is £448
I've looked at flights to Heraklion which seem to be slightly cheaper but the transfers to Chania would push the price up again.
If anybody can find anything suitable I'd be very grateful!

You may get a cheaper flight if you wait. Most of the allocation is taken up by package firms so you may need to check those for flight only options. Avro will also sell flights but at this stage Chania will not be particularly cheap. However, there are at least ten flights from the U K each Tuesday so there should be some capacity after the schools have gone back. You may even find it cheaper to book a cheap package later and just use the flight part of it.0

BA from Gatwick - £180 per person0

ive found out to my cost, that flights go up in value the longer you leave it, booking early is definitly cheaper.
also i found the recomended price comparison sights to be way dearer than i could find for my self.
i reciently booked thru holidaygenie it was the cheapest for what i needed, to the tune of around 400 quid when using comparison sites.
and it was about 200 quid cheaper to put my trip back a month.
when i get my quote it broke it down in 3 stages the main 1 being london to joburg, i fly that with virgin so checked to see if i could get it cheaper by booking with them and it actualy cost more than going manchester to london london to joburg, joburg to durban, thru holidaygenie.
im still paying a lot more than many web sites claim "prices from" and to be honest i dont think thoes prices realy exist.0 -

Those prices are without supplements and taxes added. So your looking at adding about £50pp to those prices.
Ah i see you have just edited to say taxes etc were not added."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
Thanks for those. Unfortunately they're still coming in at £430 total, was looking to find something below £400 but I guess I'm way too late for that! Ah well.0

magicbreaks.co.uk is currently showing cheap holidays to Chania on your dates. I can't click through to see if they really exist as it suggests phoning but it may be worth trying. This firm was based somewhere near Manchester airport and always gave good discounts but I think they have been taken over by the co-op.0
