Hi everyone (brand new here) so bare with me . . . I moved into this privately rented house in March last year. It has pay as you go top up meters for gas and electricity.
I topped up my gas this week as the gas had totally run out (hadn't used any emergency credit at all) put £20 on and it took 83p for debt??? What debt??? There isn't any!!!
So I found out how to find out who the supplier is . . and its this Gas Plus company. Can't find a contact number.
Looked on the energy price comparison on here . . but Gas Plus isn't listed as a provider.
So if I want to change provider I have no clue how to go about it.
I know 83 pence isn't that much to take off me but its annoyed me that it is taking money for no reason.
Anyone have any idea about this Gas Plus company and how to contact them . . and how to change provider please let me know.
I got stopped in town last week by an energy company who wanted to see if they could get my gas/electricity cheaper for me . . but they hadn't heard of Gas Plus either! The guy told me he wouldn't be able to check for a cheaper provider as a result!
HELP!!!!

A Google search suggests 'Gas Plus Supply Ltd' started off as a subsidiary of Utility Warehouse but was later sold to Npower. Last year, Utility Warehouse bought the company back from Npower again. Try giving Utility Warehouse a call.0

its utility warehouses shipper name for gas on the transporter networkDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I think you were perhaps looking for a more, er, adult-oriented site?0 -
Did you obtain your own key/card upon taking up the tenancy? If not, you may be paying the previous occupier's debt.
Sounds like no, if you didn't know the supplier ID 10 months after moving in.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

When I took the house on there was already some money left on the meter. So I'd have thought there wasn't any debt (sorry if I'm being a bit dim here but I'm really not sure how these things work. But I assume that means there wasn't any debt?0 -

As you noticed when you topped up, suppliers can deduct small amounts from each top up rather than recovering debt in one go, so the previous occupier may have been in debt and this small deduction is a part of a repayment plan they arranged with the supplier. Are you sure it hasn't been taking money out of your credit every time you've topped up since you moved in?
You should have contacted the supplier when you moved in and set up your own account with them. Contact Utility Warehouse tomorrow and explain the situation.0
