Unfortunately bank charges can be levied on benefit income.
No they can't. Bank charges should not be levied on benefit income.
Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right! :D
  • is this your personal view or is it fact as lloyds told me they have every right to take money from my account to pay charges even though they know this is from benefits.

If you stop and consider that almost everyone in the country claims a benefit of some sort it would mean that everyone could run up debts to the banks with impunity.

I am an employee of LTSB in one of their call centres. I know that charges are not allowed to be deducted from benefit money.

I am 100% certain that this is LTSB policy, and I am almost certain that this is policy as it is a Government law / guideline rather than LTSB just being 'nice'.
