Some people are not aware of that, and those people might not want to deal with Lloyds due to events in the past.

Fact cannot count as spam.
I won't go into the HSBC issues but they allegedly have some ethical issues. Again I care not sure about others.0 -

Its the reason I did not switch to Halifax. Lloyds lied to me once, I got compensation and vowed not to touch them again in any shape or form.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Not always, FD don't have the little HSBC logo next to their name anymore as far as I know, and unless you look on the back of the card or the small print its not obvious.0 -
To be fair the ownership of Halifax is relevant here - but not because of Lloyds.
They are a subsidiary of Bank of Scotland - and the £100 incentive does not apply if you switch from a BoS account as they are basically the same bank but different brands. Although if you switch from Lloyds or TSB - part of the same banking group - you are eligible.
So you can't switch to Halifax's parents and get the incentive - but you can to the grandparents in effect!0 -
