Quidco - manipulating customer reviews?

I am an active user of Quidco, and my reviews have been declined number of times. If you are persistent enough, they will eventually offer you a "goodwill" payment, roughly equal to amount of cashback. they seem to be more reluctant to publish reviews relating to cashback than experiences around retailers themselves.
This behaviour makes me so angry, and I use Topcashback as a matter of principle, apart from when the retailer is only on Quidco (which is rare).0 -
The same thing has just happened to me. Purchased an iPhone 6 from EE through Quidco. I have been waiting for 7 months for my £65 cashback and I have chased a number of times to be told it has been declined. I have no issues with EE. I completed a review & Quidco wouldn't publish it. Quidco - What a joke! Stay away from this site, They were happy to tell me that there was no contract between Quidco & I. Not sure if this is correct or not. STAY AWAY FROM QUIDCO.0

Boycotting just shows a lack of intelligence. These companies employ a large number of people who all pay tax. If everyone boycotts these companies then they would go bust, the staff would be out of work and would not be able to pay tax. Instead they would be claiming benefits.
It's smart business practices to reduce your tax bill by any legal means possible.
Thankfully only a small number of idiots boycott companies based on their tax bill!
Straw man argument - the business would go to companies that do pay UK tax, they would grow, employing more people and overall pay more in tax benefiting the economy and society.0 -
Although I don't like the idea of companies avoiding paying UK taxes, I blame the government, rather than the companies.
It is a legal duty that a company maximise its benefit to its shareholders. Tax planning is now, and always has been, part of that duty.
It is the duty of government to frame the tax laws in such a way that every entity - people and companies, pays their fair share of tax.
So, if companies can legally avoid paying UK tax it is the fault of the government, not the company. The company is doing its job; the government are not doing theirs. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

I don't want to resurrect an old argument from months ago but I would Google the definition of "straw man argument".
What I posted was an opinion, a straw man argument is when You deliberately misinterpret someone's post to claim they are arguing a position that they didn't originally argue.
The rest of your view is idealistic and in reality wouldn't work.0 -
If Quidco went belly up, their staff would just walk down the road and be in another job within days.0

This happened to me last year. I left a review and was very positive about the retailer and the product I'd bought but the cashback didn't track. This was the third time I'd bought from this retailer without it tracking and lots of other people had commented on the same problem.
My review included something along the lines of "Quidco need to look at this retailer as if cashback is never tracking then why are they on the site at all?"
Quidco refused to publish the review and invited me to submit another one. I didn't post anything defamatory, it was just a fair and honest review with a genuine question.
I don't bother leaving reviews anymore and don't bother reading them either as if they're hand picking the reviews they want then it's not a true reflection.0 -
You know them all well enough to be sure that this will happen?
I've been in their offices in Shoreditch a few times, their staff are all creatives or programmers who could find work in the many many similar firms all within a stones throw.
There's a huge shortage of this type of experience in that area0 -
There is (was?) an official Quidco rep on MSE, you would have thought that they may have appeared to deny these claims.
Still, its a shoddy practice and just shows how untrustworthy Quidco are.0
