booked holiday with wrong dates

Grateful for any advice. We booked a last minute holiday on the Thomson website early hours of this morning for Feb half term. We searched for holidays with the correct dates and got offered a holiday flying from an airport that wasn't really convenient so proceed through checkout and when able, changed departure airports. In doing so, it looks like the dates got changed. We only discovered the error tonight when I tried to login into the website tonight and then on checking the confirmation emailed received this afternoon. I attempted to call Customer Services but they were closed but I have emailed them instead. I paid on credit card if this makes an difference in our problem.
Can anyone advise how Thomson are likely to deal with this? And what the options likely are? We can't go on the altered dates as we have a child in school and we would get fined for taking him out of school. I can't afford to lose the money.
Any help would be appreciated.

Don't worry - alarm already set and I'll be on the phone as soon as they open.0

Any advice really appreciated. On hold waiting for supervisor but have been told only option is to go on the wrong dates or lose the lot. By doing so we would be breaking the law!0

Depends how likely they are to be able to sell the holiday elsewhere at such short notice. Possibly the best you can hope for is either to see if they will allow you a credit to use another time, but if its this close to departure you may well be out of luck.
The credit card won't cover you as it's your mistake for not double checking the details before hitting the pay button.
Do you know anyone who could go in your place - that way you'd just incur the change of name fees.
My guess would be there was no availability from your nearest airport, so when you changed that it gave you suggested alternative dates which you accepted. Do you think the website was unclear, or did you miss it because you were rushing to find something at silly o'clock and not paying full attention? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
This is my worst nightmare. It would be so easy to happen. I hope you get someone sympathetic but I think you may have no joy unfortunately. Let us know.....Determined to save and not squander!

Thanks for the quick responses. Still holding. I asked to be moved to the correct dates accepting I would have to pay extra and the bloke simply said any changes at this stage wasn't allowed and I would forfeit my whole booking. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and got caught off whilst waiting. I have redialled and I'm hold.0

I appreciate it was my fault and I should have double checked.0

Easily done, when you have brain death from surfing multiple sites.
So would there be a case for arguing that the changes weren't highlighted clearly enough? I've not used the website, so I don't know.
Also just wondering if they do agree to amendments, what if your dates and airport just aren't available, regardless of extra cost? Just something to think about while you wait. Good luck.
And as a last resort, what's the cost of the fine vs losing the holiday money? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

The fine will be £60 per parent per child. It might be better than losing the lot. How old is your child?0

Surely the price changed between when you looked at the half term and non half term week ?
Technically they don't have to do anything (and wouldn't be "breaking the law" by doing so. ) but depending on whether you booked before the overnight update on their systems as well as the attitude of the supervisor they may change it - so good luck !
I presume your "breaking the law" comment is about taking the kids out of school. If it doesn't work out you can still try asking the school for permission under exceptional circumstances - they can say no -and you'll eventually get fined but that will be some months in the future. No-one is going to take you to court or send you to prison for taking the kids on holiday - but they will for not paying the fine from the LEA so "breaking the law" is still your choice .I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
