We went to Llanharan yesterday in the rain lol and we loved it! We loved the new houses by the railway and also Parc Bryn Derwen, and the older ones in Chapel Terrace (?) the other side of the railway.
BUT.. today my OH look at Broadband in the area and the connection speeds are rubbish, so he's really gutted. He plays alot of games online and wanted a faster connection than where we are now (2Mb) and when he checked BT Llanharan only gets 1/4 of that (512kb) which he says is no good. Now that may seem odd to some, but it's important to him as he suffers from anxiety and doesn't go out much so the internet is important to him.I'm really gutted though and am looking into it to see if anything can be done.
So we're looking at Barry now. Anyone know what the new houses are like around Dock View Road please?

i don't know where the new houses are down Dock View Road - unless you mean the Waterfront?

personally i wouldn't go to Dock View Road - not the nicest area tbh.

for 200k you could live in Highlight Park, Cwm Talwg or somewhere else in the 'West End' which are probably the best areas of Barry.

The Waterfront is OK, but in my opinion it's become overdeveloped and would be a good investment for the future.

If you want to PM me your address, I'll send you our local paper which has all the properties in at the moment

    Hi,
As you know, I live on Parc Bryn Derwen and we have Sky Broadband, our connection speed is ip to 16Mb (£10 a month), can be a bit slow at around 9am and 5-6pm but is fine and Tesco broadband, we never had a problem with.
    Change providers is my advice!
Houses on Chapel Road are great, lovely big houses but rarely come up for sale. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help.

    Helen :D

Well we've got a bit of cold feet actually, because the high interest rates and the housing market generally. So we are "pausing" at the moment, maybe do some more saving of the pennies and paying off debts to be in a better position, and hopefully when prices level off abit and maybe go down have another look.
    Thanks for your interest:D

With any luck prices will go down a bit and you will get a better bargain!

    Good luck :j
