Arghhhhh.....I must be checking zoopla and rightmove 100 times a day but nothing is coming on the market that we like or in our price range!!!
Is anyone else in this position at the moment?
We have a buyer and a mortgage in principle in place but just cannot find a house....I think we have viewed loads of houses but there just isn't any 4 beds coming on the market...
Im driving myself mad!!

I've already sold my house and I'm fortunate enough to be living rent free with relatives till I find somewhere, I thought being a chain free, mortgage free cash buyer would make house hunting a pleasant and rather enjoyable experience but after 6 months of looking at nothing but dregs and overpriced s***holes I'm starting to get very despondent!
In my search area my main problem is the opposite to yours... lots of larger 3-4 bed houses are often coming to market, many of which seem quite good value but smaller properties (that I want) are very much in the minority.0

We have the option of moving in my mother in laws home as she lives in Spain for the majority of the year and its sitting empty. I really wanted to avoid moving twice though :-(0

The best properties are often snapped up before Internet listing. That's your problem.
Have you tried registering with the most prominent agencies in your area?0

I have registered with every agent in town!! I just keep looking at right move in case any online agents register houses or incase there is something I mislooked.0

Quiet time of the year. Spring will be here in a couple of months.0

Same situation but FTB. Hoping it is just the time of year. Crossing everything that the perfect house (with the perfect owners) comes up soon. Have been disappointed so many times and let down by previous sellers I am really losing my patience and just want an easy process with a house we love.0

I feel your pain. We do have an offer accepted on a house but are still looking as the owners are nowhere near to finding somewhere and our buyer has already been patiently waiting for two months.
It is getting so ridiculous here that an EA told us the other day that they took three houses on on the Friday afternoon. He had appointments set up for all three for early Saturday with buyers who he knew were desperate and all three were SSTC by the time he got into work that morning.
Got a phonecall from a local agent who had showed us a property in June when we first started looking and which has been sitting on the market since then. I think they may have had a buyer briefly but it is back on the market now fof £30k more!! Even though he knew we didn't want it for the cheaper price, he was trying to persuade me that it would be a good buy for us! Why on earth would I want to pay an extra thirty grand for something that we felt was overpriced seven months ago?
BTW the vendor of the property that we have offered on is fully aware that we are still looking. We have no choice. Hopefully they will find something soon then we can get moving.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away... :D:D0 :D:D0

Why don't you try leaflet dropping on houses/streets that meet your criteria. Explain you have a buyer lined up. There might be people who are thinking about putting their house on the market who will be keen to do a deal and cut out their potential estate agent fees as you have a buyer in place.0

How do you get an EA to take notice though? I have 1 who is brilliant. Tells me every house in my area coming on even if they aren't suitable. Another one never tells me till 2 days after they are on Rightmove!!!0

It is similar in the area we are moving to. We have found a house, but it was the only one suitable that we viewed and we were one of 10 viewers in the first week. We put our offer in first thing Sunday morning (viewed Saturday afternoon) and amazingly our second offer was accepted the same day- we negotiated on it within a couple of hours. My guess is that other viewers were waiting until Monday to place offers. A couple of alternative houses have been put up for sale since and both also went SSTC within a week.0
