Orange broadband to Talk Talk

Hi,

Does anyone know if I'm likely to face any problems transferring from orange broadband to the new Talk Talk line rental and broadband deal?

Hi, to answer the question, I would go through the TalkTalk website to make your application for the package. Do NOT go through teh phone or attempt to sign up over the phone, the customer service staff seem to be trained in causing as much disruption and confusion as possible for phone orders.

When you sign up online, you'll get a predicted go live date in a few days after signup. You'll then be sent a letter in the post asking for your MAC which you obtain from Orange and give notice accordingly, the MAC going to TalkTalk.

This has worked for a few people, others that try to go through the phone ended up with either duplicate accounts, a go live date far in advance of what they expected thus not having a MAC and resulting in no service for weeks, etc. I think it must be a different team that handle the online applications because their service is much better.
