No problem!
Both have their merits and neither is perfect.
Good luck

Hi Poodlecrazy,
Thanks for the great info.
I was wondering though if you knew when the next training round is for Texperts?
I have been waiting for nearly 2 months and am still yet to hear nothing
You say they are a nicer bunch, but there are over 400 people on Facebook waiting for news lol!
I myself have tried emailing them several times and they havn't replied.
Do you know when it might be? Thanks.0 -
' Someone has posted today on another thread to say that AQA has told them they have to wait 8 months between applications! '
AQA are having a big recruitment drive at the moment so it's worth trying again now. Make sure you stick to their guideline-they are very picky regarding how you state the time, dates etc. good luck0 -
Hi Nester
Thanks for that. Any tips gratefully received.0 -
Hi Jpgames!
I'm not sure what the reason for delay / timescale is but I shall try to find out. I know generally that there is a feeling of being overstaffed at the moment with the shifts going very quickly. Apparently this is due to it being a quiet time of year but I don't know how true that is or whether they simply over-recruited.
From friends who work at AQA it seems they are also very quiet so it may be down to the time of year. Anyway, I shall try and find out and get back to you.
AQA are, I believe, recruiting at the moment. I get the feeling that more people come and go from there so that may explain it.
Good luck!

AQA is great in that you can log on any time HOWEVER, if you are using a computer that is part of a network (i.e. work, school, library) it will almost certainly not work. Check this out before you go through the killer application process!

This can be got round at universities and libraries, but I can't reveal how as it deals with how AQA works, which is largely confidential.
Anyway, don't let this put you off.0 -
I work for texperts and as a source of income I do not recommend it. Been there a year or so. never made more than an average of £4/hr. its fun yes but nothing more. Really overstaffed at the moment so it's difficult to get hours. Go for AQA if you can. i think there's more chance of being taken on. I would jump ship if i could but alas i do not ahve the 3 references for the application form.0

Hi!
The need to work around the networks didn't put me off (I wish it had!) but I found after I joined that there wasn't a way without the permission of the network administrators or without them changing settings, which in my case they wouldn't do. AQA had no further suggestions.
Fiddlesticks, having gone the other way i.e. left AQA to join texperts I have found texperts on the whole to be better both in terms of earnings and in terms of niceness to deal with. In fact I am yet to come across any nastiness at texperts (true it is quiet at times and rates can be poor) but at least everyone seems nice enough!! The quiet times at AQA are just as bad but there is a lot more back biting and 'foul play' in my experience. Mentors in texperts seem generally happy to help as well which is nice. I have found the senior researchers in AQA rude but then I may have been unlucky as there are different ones around.
