Thanks, but I was wondering how long it takes them to reply to the application test :D Usefull stuff anyways!

Just heard I've been accepted :D

Only took 2 days for them to get back to me since sending in my test.

Amazed I got in. Especially with my rubbish agony aunt answer to the question about "My boyfriends sister..." !

Hope I can avoid questions like that on the real thing.

Congratulations! :j

I wonder if it's worth me sending them an email as it has been much longer than 2 days

i'm waiting to hear with my second test
• I sent my test off yesterday, really hope I get in because I'd really enjoy this, I love finding out random facts, I'm a geek!

Thinkj I did alright on the test but a bit worried about my grammar, never been very good at that.

If I get the job hoping it will fund a fair bit of my monthly savings towards paying off the mortgage early.
• I've read that they already have over 2000 researchers and get about 30000 questions a day. So split between everyone thats only 15 questions per day per researcher so it doesn't seem like you can make too much money.

This is untrue. AQA currently employ around 900 researchers and receive on average 17,000 questions a day. They plan to extend the service to 2,200 researchers and receive around 30,000 a day. The average is probably slightly misleading as it is twice as busy on a Saturday as a Monday.

I make around £700 a month, putting in around 80 hours in total. The biggest earning days are Saturdays (football results) and Friday nights (pub quizzes and pub arguments).

However, and this is the most important thing to remember: It takes time and practice to earn a decent wage. I know lots of people IRL who have started AQA and found it hard and have only earned a few pounds an hour. After just 1 month of working those who stuck with it were on a decent London living wage. (Well, for students they were...)

This job is definitely perfect for students, housewives and the retired (who make up 70% of the researchers). It is also great if you are saving up for something like a holiday, games console etc. As a full time job or sole source of income it can be a struggle. It ultimately comes down to your personality. If you love scouring the internet, learning, and watching TV while you work: it is ideal.

Hope this doesn't scare anyone off, as it is genuinely a brilliant company to work for.

What I said isn't untrue based on this article on AQA's website, http://www.63336.com/news/pr_080110_10million.htm.

They are saying they are doubling their amount of researchers to 2200 and are on track to receive 30 000 texts per day by the end of the year. But this article is from 11 January 2007. So now its a year later and I was just wondering what people are earning with them figures.

Thanks for sharing your info, that amount for the hours you put in certainly works out at a good hourly rate. That will give me something to work for and its nice to know its possible to earn a good amount :D

That article is dated wrongly. You'll note the point about them expanding the workforce 'in 2008'

I posted the link to the article a couple of pages back in this thread, when it was announced to existing staff.
