Rbs - avu

I opened an account with RBS on line on the 26th January. On the 29th I recieved a letter and took some ID into my local branch. Then the 30th recieved a voicemail from the branch to say everything was fine and my account was all open. Does this mean I'm safe from account closure from AVU?

Normally the accounts would be closed the next working day after it being opened if it was going to be, however don't hold me to it!

Not always true a friend had one opened for 2 weeks before the AVU department closed it.

RBS/Natwest really need to change the way they open accounts, sending out debit cards and cheque books and pins then days or weeks later closing accounts.

How much time and money does this waste.. They should do all the final checks before issuing anything, which is the way most other banks do!!
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

    Haha stupid autocorrect.

The accounts have been split now and are managed on different systems Scotland accounts on one system England and Wales accounts on another ready for Williams and Glyn. That's why their are two pages to access online banking.

  • Just an update my account still remains open. I may have passed AVUs checks on this occasion.

There's still time yet, as I said a friend of mine had one open for 2 weeks before they closed it.

I've been into a branch and they have confirmed my application didn't trigger any referals other than proof of identity so in this instance I've got nothing to worry about.
